This painting by the artist is a refreshing one. It is developed on batik as a painting technique. I loved the way the artist was able to convey the complicated emotions between the father and his son as mentioned in the gallery description. It is indeed a universal emotional connection between father and son. The son looked so adorable, to be honest with his kain sarong aka a skirt adornment. The overall painting is just so sombre in expression and there is just something about the painting that makes my heart excited.

Asian Chinese artists certainly have great versatility and being a Malaysian Chinese, he is able to show his skill in batik painting. As someone from the Malay heritage and having roots in Java Indonesia, I am disappointed that I do not have the artistic inclination to develop batik painting.
