It’s okay if all you did today was survive
Hello everyone,
It’s okay if all you did today was to survive. Let me share with you about my photography journey to brighten up your day!
How is everyone doing?
Are you in good health and in a safe place?
Alhamdullilah, I am in a great place.
Now, I have a lot of time in my hands.
I would go for long walks around my estate in the mornings and also in the late evenings to take in some fresh air.
I would read a book sometime and do my fitness routine in some other time.
I am currently finishing reading a book entitled: The Infinite Game by Simon Snek. It is a great non-fiction book that I always enjoy reading. It is about how in order for a business to thrive, they need to have an infinite mindset by focusing on the well-being of its customers and employees first then focusing on the profits and putting the interest of the stakeholders second.
I picked up the camera during the turbulent part of my life. Initially, it was really tough learning on how to use it but it becomes a second nature to me. It is a life-coping strategy to take shots of the buildings, people and animals like monkeys and snails. I become more mindful of my surroundings. I would spend time doing photoshoots with a friend of mine who is a freelancer. It is my hobby to take shots of her as outdoor photography has been my hobby since I was about 25 years old.
My dream is to earn enough to travel the world and take photos of the poor, and also in the tribal communities and perhaps starting my own photojournalism journey in the future. My favourite is doing portrait photography as it captures the person’s emotions and pictures his/her well-being.
My camera is my best friend as I love to take shots on the go whenever I feel like bringing my camera out. It has become a companion thus far. Currently, I am working on my own portfolio website to display my photos as my creative outlet.I want to clock in as many hours as possible to be a better photographer every day.
When I was 26 years old, I took some shots in Korea. During my trip, I was also overcome with my mental health challenges. Photography is a therapy for me at that time.

I really hope each and every one of you will find a hobby that is close to your heart. Having a hobby is great for personal growth and helps to take small steps to achieving simple goals. it is a good practice to learn life skills once in a while.
I am merely an observer who observes the small and the big details. Sometimes, the writing inspirations come randomly. Taking a small step at a time builds your resilient slowly but surely. It is okay to not complete something in a day as all takes time.
I would like to share my favourite affirmation of the day:
I love myself and accept myself even in broken places.
I learnt to honor who I am.
I really pray that your day is going to be amazing today. Hwaiting! ( Meaning: A word of encouragement in Korean)
